About Bioparco Rome
The zoo has evolved from being just a place to see exotic animals to a place dedicated to conservation and education and it actively participates in various programs around the world that include research, breeding and preservation of endangered species, helping to protect the numbers around the world.
The zoo is home to over 1000 animals from over 200 species, including all different shapes and sizes from big cats to primates to birds to penguins. The park has designed the habitats to mirror the species own natural habitats to help ensure they thrive.
You can walk along the paths and get up close with some of the residents including the hippos, giraffes, tigers, bears, leopards, snakes, birds, monkeys amongst others.
The animals at the park have been chosen to represent the biodiversity of the planet and to help remind us of our responsibility to help protect the environment.
